Professor Jessica Byron

    She was previously professorial fellow in the UWI Sir Arthur Lewis Institute of Social and Economic Studies (SALISES), UWI Mona, Jamaica and Head of the Department of Government, UWI Mona.

    She has published extensively on Caribbean-Latin American international relations and on small states and territories in the global political economy.

    Her latest publications are “Martinique’s Accession to the OECS: A New Chapter in Caribbean Regionalism?” The Round Table, June 2017, and Byron J., Lewis P., Gilbert-Roberts T. eds. (2018) Pan-Caribbean Integration: Beyond CARICOM London: Routledge.  She belongs to a number of international scholarly associations and has contributed to the work of various regional and international organizations and civil society groupings.

    In this context, she is currently the Caribbean representative on the World Council of Churches Commission of the Churches on International Affairs.
