Edrice Lewis Viechweg

Born in Basseterre, St. Kitts, second child of Eric and Helen Lewis, Edrice attended the Basseterre Girls, Basseterre Junior High and Basseterre Senior High Schools as well as St. Kitts Nevis Teachers Training College and St. Lucia Teachers’ training College. She then taught at the Irish Town, St. Johnson Village, Basseterre Junior High and Basseterre Senior High schools before migrating to the United States where she obtained Undergraduate and Graduate degrees.

Edrice currently works, as a Quality Control Coordinator at a major global corporation, is an Adjunct Professor at Norwalk Community College, and an ordained Deacon in the Episcopal Diocese of Connecticut, currently serving at St. Pauls’ Episcopal Church, Fairfield, CT. She is married to Trevor Viechweg, and has two sons, Shaun and Brian. In her spare time, she loves to tutor, read, knit, crochet and garden.

Fourteen years ago, Edrice established the Edrice Lewis Viechweg Scholarship Fund to assist children in her homeland – the Federation of St. Kitts and Nevis. This allows her to give school supplies, uniforms, clothing and accessories (all the supplies needed for the following school year) to an ever expanding number of children in both St. Kitts and Nevis who are less fortunate than we are. Edrice has also donated to the St. Christopher Children’s Home, and the Cardin Home, and travels to her country during the summer months to continue this ministry, which is very important to her.

She would like to take this opportunity to wish the members of ANSAR much success in this and future endeavors.
